Singapore Youth Olympic Games: Youth Olympic Flame

Have you heard about the Youth Olympic Flame? What is the Youth Olympic Flame?

In the prelude to the world's first ever Youth Olympic Games that will be held in Singapore from 14 August 2010 to 26 August 2010, a torch will be lit and carried around the world to draw attention to the Youth Olympic Games starting in July 2010.

The Youth Olympic Flame will travel across the world to one city on the continents of Europe, Africa, the Americas, Oceania and Asia. The Youth Olympic Flame will start in Greece, the birth place of the Olympic Games and fly to Berlin (Germany), Dakar (Senegal), Mexico City (Mexico), Auckland (New Zealand) and Seoul (Republic of Korea).

The Youth Olympic Flame will arrive in Singapore for a six-day round-island torch relay before it reaches the cauldron at the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games (Singapore 2010) Opening Ceremony, to herald the start of the world's first Youth Olympic Games.

This travel of the Youth Olympic Flame will connect the people of the world to the Olympic Movement. It is a celebration of the spirit of Olympism that allows Singapore as the host city of the world's first Youth Olympic Games to reach out to a global audience to come to Singapore to experience the YOG excitement.

Are you ready to witness the Youth Olympic Flame?
