Singapore YOG Countdown Clock

On 14 August 2009, a Singapore YOG Countdown Clock was revealed at Singapore's City Hall to mark the One Year Countdown to the first Youth Olympic Games to be held in Singapore in the year 2010.

The Singapore YOG Countdown Clock is constructed by Swiss watchmaker OMEGA, the Official Timekeeper for the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games.

The Singapore YOG Countdown Clock was unveiled at the One Year Countdown Event by Professor S Jayakumar, Senior Minister and Co-ordinating Minister for National Security; Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS); Mrs Yee Shoon YU-FOO, Minister of State, MCYS; Mr Ser Luck TEO, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, MCYS; and Mr Christophe BERTHAUD, OMEGA Olympic Manager.

The Singapore YOG Countdown Clock measures 10m tall by 3m wide and weighs 4.4 tonnes. The Singapore YOG Countdown Clock design is inspired by the vibrant and dynamic city of Singapore. The Singapore YOG Countdown Clock design represents the fundamental importance of sport timekeeping at the YOG.
