Asian Youth Games To Be Held In Singapore In 2009

It is now official. The first ever Asian Youth Games will be held in Singapore from July 2 to July 10 in 2009. This announcement was splashed in The Straits Times front page today. The Olympic Council of Asia has given Singapore the right to host it in July 2009. This forerunner to the Youth Olympic Games Games will provide Singapore an excellent opportunity to put into practice the plans, processes and people systems for the greatest show in Asia before the Youth Olympic Games.

Where are the venues?
The probable venues are: Singapore Sports School (swimming), Toa Payoh Swimming Complex (diving), Bishan stadium (athletics), Singapore Indoor Stadium (basketball), possibly Safra Mt Faber (bowling), National Sailing Centre (sailing) and Toa Sports Hall (shooting and table tennis).
