In the Women World Cup table tennis 2008 competition held in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore's Feng Tianwei beat compatriot Wang Yuegu to claim the bronze medal.
In the earlier semi-final clash, Feng Tianwei was defeated by Hong Kong's Tie Yana 11—6, 13—11, 11—8 and 11—7. Feng Tianwei, winner of the silver medal in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, was unable to reproduce her great form during an earlier table tennis win over China's and the World's second seeded table tennis player Guo Ye.
During the third and fourth placing play-off in the Women World Cup table tennis competition, Feng Tianwei mustered a 11—8, 11—9, 11—7 and 11—8 victory over her team mate from Singaproe.
The recent ban on the use of speed glue in table tennis has affected all the table tennis players. But it seems like Feng Tianwei has managed to cope better than others. Hopefully as she gets used to playing with the new table tennis bat, and after shaking off the celebrations from her recent Beijing Olympic Games, she will continue to march on.
Congratulations to Feng Tianwei on her bronze medal win in the Women World Cup table tennis competition!
