First Gold Medal at Asian Beach Games 2008
Ng Yeow Gim became the first Singaporean athlete to win a Gold Medal for Singapore at the first Asian Beach Games 2008. Ng Yeow Gim scored 119 final strikes to take the Gold Medal in Woodball Men's Final in Nusa Dua, Bali on 22 October 2008. His total score of 451 in Woodball Men's Final was achieved in a well-played game at the finals of the Asian Beach Games.
The Woodball Men's Team however was not able to capitalise on his consistent good scores to bring home any medal during the team event held earlier.
