Asian Youth Games: H1N1 Update
The Influenza A H1N1 pandemic virus has gatecrashed the inaugural Asian Youth Games 2009 even before the official opening ceremony has commenced.
News this past week has informed that several members of the Asian Youth Games soccer teams have been infected with Influenza A H1N1 virus. Those infected are said to be recovering well.
This has resulted in the quarantine of soccer players and coaches. Some Asian Youth Games preliminary soccer matches have also been postponed.
Strict screening of Asian Youth Games participants for symptoms and signs of Influenza A H1N1 infection have been carried out and will continue throughout the Games.
In addition, precautionary measures will be carried out at all venues of the first Asian Youth Games in Singapore.
