Singapore Girls Win AYG Gold
In the Girls 4x100M Freestyle finals at the AYG last night, Singapore girls swam to a new national record of 3:46.91 minutes to win Gold medals.
The quartet of Koh Hui Yu, Quah Ting Wen, Amanda Lim and Lynette Lim presented Singapore with a gold medal winning performance at the Asian Youth Games (AYG) swimming meet in resounding style, finishing almost 4 seconds ahead of Team Republic of Korea.
Koh Hui Yu started the medal win while swim sensation Quah Ting Wen, who won the gold medal in the 100M freestyle finals, produced a spectacular swim, to the delight of local supporters. Amanda Lim, clocked a timing of 55.96 seconds for the third lap. Lynette Lim touched home and secured the gold medal for Singapore with the approing road of the crowd as they wrapped up the Asian Youth Games swimming tournament with a gold medal and a new national record for Singapore.
The Republic of Korea stopped the clock at 3:50.56 minutes to land silver while China stood third, clocking 3:51.34 minutes.
