What is the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games Sports Pictogram Launch?

Pictograms depicting the 26 sports that will be competed at the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games were revealed on 20 May 2009. That was the final day of the second International Olympic Committee (IOC) Coordination Commission’s visit.
At the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Learning Centre, Mr Ser Miang NG, Chairman of the Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (SYOGOC), Mr Kee Nguan GOH, SYOGOC CEO, members of the IOC Coordination Commission, and members of the IOC YOG Team unveiled the 26 sports pictograms.
The 26 sport pictograms are derived from the Singapore 2010 logo – the Spirit of Youth. Incorporating a flame that embodies the youth’s passion to learn and a purple star that signifies excellence, the pictograms capture the passion, dedication and sportsmanship in youths.
The emblems inspire youthfulness, adventure, openness and fun which is the spirit behind the Games that will take place in Singapore from 14 to 26 August 2010.
